About Me

Capt. Ryan Druyor

Born and raised right here in Saint Petersburg; I've spent my life exploring the waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

I started sailing an Optimist dinghy at Treasure Island Yacht Club when I was nine and continued on to the laser and 420s up into college at Florida State. In between sailing and school, I got into wakeboarding and wakeskating. With my sailing and wakeboarding background I made an easy transition into kiteboarding. At Florida State in 2002 I started the second collegiate kiteboarding club in the nation, the FSU Kiteboard Association.

In 2013 we re-launched the Collegiate Kiteboarding Association (CKA) a 501(c)(3) non-profit group, in order to develop a competitive kiteboarding tour and national championship. CKA has grown throughout the years and now has schools from both the east and west coast as well as a snowkiting competition in the mid west. After four years, I have stepped down as the Vice President and principal event organizer, but I still put on clinics and teach aspiring young students from Eckerd College and the University of South Florida.

Certification: IKO Level 1 Certified Instructor, Level 2 US Sailing Instructor.
